dōTERRA Breathe™ Vapor Stick Review and Give Away!

This past year dōTERRA came out with some great new products. I have previously reviewed the dōTERRA Natural Deodorant, - here. Not only did I review it, I also gave one away!  I have decided this month of May to do another review and give away!  Why you ask?  Well, this month dōTERRA has another great promotion for its Wellness Advocates!

Earn a FREE 5 mL of Cardamom, 15 mL of dōTERRA Breathe®, dōTERRA Breathe Vapor Stick, dōTERRA Breathe Respiratory Drops (Retail Value $91.99) by placing any 200 PV order from May 1st thru May 31st 2016.

These are basically FREE oils!!! And I want to share with you!

I am a big fan of the dōTERRA Breathe™ Essential Oil Blend and dōTERRA Breathe™ Throat Drops, so I was thrilled when dōTERRA came out with the dōTERRA Breathe™ Vapor Stick. What's not to love - all the great benefits of dōTERRA Breathe™ in an easy to apply stick?!

dōTERRA Breathe™ has some specific benefits:

    • Maintains feelings of clear airways and easy breathing
    • Promotes a restful night’s sleep
    • Helps minimize the effects of seasonal threats
    • Provides a cooling, soothing effect both topically and aromatically

I have used dōTERRA Breathe™ in the past in our diffusers (both night and day-time), topically diluted on our chests or applied a drop on my hands and inhaled. (There should be some joke there about not inhaling . . . but I've got nothing right now :/ )

While roller balls are a great way to apply diluted EO's, especially on younger children, and I frequently make my own roller balls for easier application, to extend the life of my oils and to create my own EO blends, the Vapor Stick has made application so much easier!  I can let my Baby Girl (she's almost 7) use it herself and her older brothers too.  There is no need to dilute and make a mess of one's hands.  Just open up the stick, give it a little twist up and apply to your back or chest.  I've even applied to my throat and just dabbed under my nose.

Now that you've heard all about dōTERRA  Breathe™ Vapor Stick, it's time to enter - Just leave a comment on this post and I will be picking a random commenter at the end of the month.  Good luck and Happy Oiling!

On Guard Essential Oil Party Make & Take - Easy How To!

I'm getting ready to host my 2nd Essential Oil Make and Take!

My goal has been to hold a Make & Take every other month.  You can read about my first Essential Oil 101 Class here.  The 101 Class is a great intro to Doterra Essential Oils and the rollerball Make & Take's were easy to do and a big hit!

This month I am focusing on Doterra's Protective Blend (aka On Guard).  With all the sickies going around this year, I thought this one would be a great one - and we get to make some fun stuff!

So what do I love about the Protective Blend??  It's main ingredients are Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus and Rosemary.  It supports the immune system*, is a natural way to clean around the home and diffuse to clean the air, supports the respiratory system*, supports the body's natural antioxidant defenses*, protects against environmental threats and it smells amazing!

    So, what are we making?

On Guard Foaming Hand Soap - $6.50
On Guard Hand Sanitizer Spray - $4.50
On Guard Cleaning Spray - $4.00
    Flu Bomb Rollerball - $5.00

Once I had set the day, time and location (Thanks again for hosting, Mom!), I set up a FB event.  FB events are an easy way to get the word out, invite friends and have a central location to post information and updates.  I also sent out the class information in a monthly email to all those on my Doterra email list.

Next on the list - put together a supplies list.  For any EO product, storing in glass containers is the best option.  Aromatools.com or Amazon.com are both great places.  I have an Amazon Prime account, so I get free shipping too! Just be forewarned - some of the bottles I ordered were NOT glass - I should have read the fine print better :(  I use glass containters for the sanitizing spray, rollerballs and cleaning spray as these will last longer.  Because of the shorter usage life of the foaming hand soap, I purchased some plastic bottles from DoTerra.  They work well and are a great price.

Once I had my containers, I browsed through some EO books and Pinterest for some great recipes.  I did tweak the hand soap and sanitizer recipes a little.  But that is what I love about making my own products at home - I can add any of my favorite oils, try a few different options out and see what works best for me!

    Foaming Hand Soap

    Hand Sanitizer

This past weekend, I spent some time making copies of the recipes, posting the costs for each Make & Take product and a reminder on the event page.

And I think I am ready to go!  Happy Oiling!

Essential Oil 101 Class! (How To!)

Hello again . . . Hello . . .  oh, wait.  I'm not a singer, but I do like to sing the praises of My dōTERRA Essential Oils! And yes, for full disclosure, I am a:

What does that actually mean?? It means that I love using Essential Oils and, as a lifelong learner, I love sharing what I have learned with others!  Oh and there are links in this post, of which I have received no benefits for posting . . . I think I better look into that!

One of my goals for this year is to intentionally share oils with others every couple of months. I will be hosting these events at my parent's home and they will include some "Make & Takes".  This includes making rollerballs, sampling recipes that use oils, making cleaning products, personal products and whatever I come across.  I will be sharing each get-together on the blog to show how simple and easy it is!

My first class of the year was an Essential Oil 101 Class.  This class offered basic information about what Essential Oils are and how to use them.  It was a great class to start the year off with, especially for any first time oil users or those wanting to learn more about them. My dōTERRA  offers so many great tools for educating and sharing oils and one of them is the Class in a Box.  The Class in a Box included a DVD that I use to talk and walk anyone through some basic EO information, order forms, samples and so much more!

My prep was fairly simple:  I created an Event on FB, emailed those I know already who have shown interesting in EO's, gathered recipes for some yummy snacks (who doesn't like to snack while you learn) and gathered my supplies.  For this Make & Take, we were going to be making some rollerballs.  Rollerballs are a great tool for applying EO's, mixing them for specific needs and for getting the most out of your EO's.  I purchased rollerballs from: aromatools.com, in sizes 5ml (1/6 oz.) and 10ml (1/3oz).  You can even select different colors or styles!  After making sure I had enough rollerballs (the 5ml size are the most popular), I needed some Fractionated Coconut Oil, Essential Oils and recipes!  Recipes for EO rollerballs can be found almost anywhere, from EO books to Pinterest, can be as simple as diluting a single oil or combining multiple oils for a specific purpose. I am still working on pre-printed labels that can stick on the rollerballs, so for this class, I had Recipe Cards printed up with recipes, some blank recipe cards to create your own and blank labels for the rollerballs.  It is very important to label your EO rollerballs!  It's really not a big deal if you use the "wrong"one, but it is a big deal if you really like one and you can't remember what you put in it!

For the day of the class, I made some yummy snacks (Citrus Fruit Dip-using dōTERRA Lime EO, Peppermint Brownies, and Hummus with dōTERRA Lemon EO), printed off my recipe cards and cut them up, gathered all my supplies and headed back to my parents.  Ok, it wasn't quite that easy, as I forgot the brownies and some items in my printer and had to come back home to get them!  Thankfully, they live less than a 1/4 of a mile from me :)

When the guests arrived, I had them sign-in (name, address, email) and encouraged them to try some snacks and put their name, with any questions they might have, in a jar for a give-away drawing.  Once everyone arrived and had settled in, I did a quick welcome and introduction and then we began.  I decided to show only one segment from the dōTERRA  DVD called "What are Essential Oils".  After showing the video, I started pulling out the questions and there were some great ones!  "Does dōTERRA have a Rose Oil?", "How is dōTERRA different from other oil companies?', "What are the no-no's of using essential oils?", and my favorite "What can I use essential oils for?"!  Once the questions were answered, I explained how the rollerball making would work and we all went at it!  There was a lot of chatter, questions and laughter.  It was great to have another Wellness Advocate on hand to answer questions and lend a hand in looking up oil uses.

Overall, the night was a success!  Most importantly, it was such fun to see everyone dive right in and get excited about using EO's! So, what should my next class be -cleaning products for the home or skin care products!  What would interest you?  And if you're very interested, follow me on Facebook or comment below for more information!

    I'm back . . . DoTerra Deodorant Review

    It's been awhile . . . but I'm back.

And I've been trying out some of doTERRA's newly released products!  First up a natural deodorant!

For a little background, I've been trying different natural deodorant's for the past few years.  My first move was away from an antiperspirant.  The short reason - Aluminum, which is possibly* linked by some to cancer and Alzheimer's. I would prefer not to have to deal with either of these, and using an antiperspirant was something I did at least once a day, I dropped the antiperspirant and switched to a deodorant, then have been trying the more natural deodorants. Can I just say there is A LOT out there!  And you can spend as little or as much as you would like!  There are rocks, sprays, roll-on, sticks, homemade, etc.

So, what did I think?!                                  I really like it!                                   And it works!

Ingredients:  Coconut Oil, Beeswax, Triethyl Citrate, Carnauba Wax, Corn Starch, Cypress Oil, Melaleuca Oil, Cedarwood, Bergamot Oil, Sage Oil, Shea Butter & Sodium Caproyl/Lauroyl Lactylate.

Pretty good that there are only two of those I had to look up! The scent is simple, not overpowering or perfuming at all. Cedarwood is also one of my favorite oils, so I really like the smell.  When applying, one will notice it is a little sticky.  But after application, I didn't notice it again - and my armpits definitely weren't sticking together!  As a friend suggested, I applied it more than once.  I applied some after my shower (which I usually do at night), then again in the morning or before I headed out.  I made sure I added a layer before I headed to work out with my younger two!

My two biggest tests: Rockstar workout and Co-op days!  For the workout, I always sweat (that's kinda the point) but I didn't notice a stinky armpit smell afterwards . . . and yes, I checked! For co-op days, I am busy running around setting up for the day, so even if it's not warm, I typically start to sweat a little.  Then have to be around others for the rest of the morning, so I don't want to be all stinky from the morning set-up.  And I wasn't!

The final selling point - my shirts!  I'm not big into washing each shirt after every wear, especially if it's a nice sweater or a shirt I've only worn for a few hours.  This cuts down on the wear of my clothes and helps them last longer.  But, if I pick up a shirt the following week and the armpits smell - that's is not good!  I have not noticed this problem at all using the doTERRA Natural Deodorant.

And now, here's the good part!  I am giving away a doTERRA Natural Deodorant!  Would you like to try it?  Just comment on my blog and you'll be put in for a drawing on November 7th.  I will then send you your own doTERRA Natural Deodorant to try out!

But even if you don't win . . . it's a very reasonably priced natural deodorant and comparable to other natural deodorants.  $11.33 retail which you can order through my website.

Or if you're already a doTERRA WA, you can buy it for the wholesale price of $8.50.  If you'd like to learn more about having access to wholesale doTERRA, just comment below!
